Not for the weak of stomach...

Aaahh....pregnancy nose....you know the one...with that glorious heightened sense of smell....

Well, have I got a story for you!

Yesterday was our huge state FCAT testing. All started out well as the students came in, had a snack breakfast and the testing window starts. Halfway through the first test, a student raised her hand and asked to use the bathroom because she felt ill. OK--since there were 3 adults in the room, I could take her out. A few minutes later, she was fine and went back to finish her test. Well, as soon as she finished the last question on her test and closed the test booklet, she proceeds to throw up, yes, hurl, all over the test documents, desk, her books, clothes, everything. We're talking some major projectile stuff here. The other 8 students around her had to lift their feet off the floor to keep their shoes clean.

As soon as I smelled her lovely breakfast...I was done. No more. Couldn't bear to be in that room. Someone else had to cover my class for the remainder of the day. I'm not sure what is worse, the actual upchuck or the orange sprinkle stuff they put on it. Ugh. I'm gagging thinking about it. I went in to get my stuff at the end of the day and I could still smell it. This morning, I could still smell it---so someone had to cover my class again today. Yikes.

The funny thing is that we actually had to double bag her test documents and ship them over to district office to be shredded. That is going to be a RUDE box to open and attempt to shred.

Now instead of teaching/test administering today, I get to put labels on all the test documents. That is not so fun...but at least it smells good in here!

Baby is doing GREAT! Daddy and grandpa put the crib together this weekend and grandma bought some cute clothes and 2 stuffed animals! (She/He's flipping 'round and 'round with excitement! Thanks!)

30 Week Checkup

Had a doctors appt. yesterday---

My blood pressure was good (a little high for me at 110/60, but apparantly that is normal).
Baby's heartbeat is beating strong :)

Blood work for diabetes came back fine...well under the "140" limit which is good news. Doctor is concerned with anemia though, as it came back a few points shy of what is "acceptable". He's not overly concerned, as it is only a few points, but suggested that I make sure and get even more iron in my diet (besides the vitamins).

Baby must have gone through a growth spurt last time, because I'm measuring right on 30 weeks now (whew).

After the appointment, we had our maternity unit tour. That was interesting as we got to see the rooms (all private), ask lots of questions and meet one of the wonderful lactation consultants.

That's all the news for now! Have a great day!

Yikes!

The pictures are getting scarier! This is ALL OF ME...30 weeks (or 32 weeks, depending on which due date you feel like using...). It feels like my body just exploded over night! (Although it really doesn't seem bad when covered with a shirt...) Baby is pushing up into my diaphragm, so it is quite hard to breathe right now. Otherwise, things are going well. Adam and I are getting more excited to meet this little one everyday! The movements are no longer little flutters, but bigger, whomping ones. Lots of fun! We are going back to the doctor on Tuesday and also tour the maternity ward on Tues. Oh, and we're so proud of ourselves to have figured out how to set up the pack'n'play. (You can admire our work if you can see your way around the monstrosity that is my belly!)

Imb Sick.

Vitamins are great, but sometimes the cold still gets the best of you. Too bad I can't call in....'cuz IMB SICK. I may have to call the doctor and find out what meds are safe to take...not sure I can kick this without 'em. Yucky, scratchy sore throat and my head feels like it is going to explode! Pew.

A Good Weekend!

Adam and I had a good weekend! We chaperoned the Valentine's Day dance on Friday (of course, Adam had to dance a little too!). When we got home Friday night, we enjoyed a nice, relaxing dinner and watched a few episodes of Lost (trying to catch up!). Sleeping in late on Sat. morning was a blessing--we're really trying to take advantage of quiet mornings and no alarm clocks now...we'll have an automatic wakeup call in May. Pajamas were the dress code of the day...it was chilly and rainy here...a good day to curl up with a book! Later on Sat. night we went to our church potluck and played Bunco (very fun dice game!). Sun. morning we went to church and then went to pick up another piece of the baby's furniture (changing table/dresser). We need to pick up the crib still, but need to find a vehicle to do so. Maybe next weekend.

We have a 4 day work week because Rodeo Day is on Friday. Yes, you heard it, Rodeo Day. Central FL is actually one of the largest rodeo areas of the U.S. I think we should go---and root for the bulls. I just want to experience it once...even though I think it will be corny!

Other than that, we're looking forward to Ron and Kay coming down at the end of February. Oh, and the Strawberry Festival is coming up too---yummy!

Have a wonderful week! Stay warm! (It was only 33 degrees this morning with a high of 48 here....ok, not cold by your standards, but COLD for here!)

28.5 Weeks...and other random stuff.

Well, here's some pictures. My belly doesn't have that nice round shape---baby's head is on top which makes the top of my belly stick out further than the rest. Kinda looks funny! Also, it looks like I've gained about 100 lbs. in this picture, but it has only been 19 lbs...I swear! It's just not as cute as Meg's basketball belly :) (See her blog pictures---linked on the left!).

Oh, I don't think I shared before, but at the last ultrasound (end of Jan.), we got to see baby opening and closing his/her eyes. That was too cool!

Baby is doing fine---very active during regular intervals of the day. He/She weighs about 2.4 lbs. and is about 15.25 inches long!

The Case of the Disappearing Belly Button...

Quickly, oh so quickly, the button is fading away. Where is it going? Is there some magical belly button land? A few more weeks and the BB will have relocated to it's new home. Odd how you get attached to something that you never use. If you know where I can find it, report it to 1-800-got-baby immediately. Thank you.

Oh, and the poll boxes have changed, so make sure you vote!
